Character TD / Rig Reel Breakdown - Andre Metello - metello@gmail.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Segment 1 - Scripted Character Rigging Methods This segment demonstrates a set of MEL scripts that I created for producing automated, modular and scalable character rigs. Used to create stable and uniform character setups. Full squash and stretch capatibilities on every part, as well as a dynamic-reparenting method for changing any controlīs parent on the fly during animation. (Scene embeded via script node and connections - No need for external scripts and works perfectly with multiple referenced files characters). Also demonstrating are FK/IK switching on the fly without any popping. Procedurally rig also features independent hip/shoulder movement, FK/IK fingers as well as toon rubber-hose style deformations on arms and legs. This section also shows that the same method can be used to create characters with any number of arms and legs. A quadruped is demonstrated, built using the same scripts and tools. Segment 2 - Example Character UI This section shows an example of a useful character UI for facial animation that can be used to quickly pose facial controls and to save/restore poses as well as sharing same poses among different characters. Segment 3 - Plug In Development An example of a plug in solution, a software that generates a a mesh comprised of hundreads of planes that can be controlled via attribute maps and animated. Used for many situations were a repetition of geometry is requested. Custom geometry can be used as well. Originally built to create feathers on birds (as demonstrated) for a music video.
